●岩手の大地と琵琶湖の街
沖縄にルーツを持つ平敷兄弟とその家族は、それぞれ自然の美しい土地に移り住み、生活の中で“琉球藍染工房”として作品作りをしています。
目の前に牧草地が広がり、牛がのんびり草を食べている風景の中で染めている岩手の工房。
そして、綺麗な水が注ぎ込む大きな湖のある街、滋賀県の高島市でショップと染色を営む“ウメノコヤ”。

沖縄で育まれた藍染文化に思いを馳せながら、自然豊かな岩手と滋賀で活動しています。

●今のくらしと、藍
目まぐるしく変化する日々の暮らしの中で、”やさしく寄り添ってくれる藍染め作品”をコンセプトに、モダンな暖簾やタペストリーなどのインテリアファブリックや、着心地の優しいドレスやワンピースなどのファッションアイテムを、沖縄の海や空の様に深く優しい藍色に染めています。

●ウメノコヤについて
京都と福井を結ぶ街道沿いの町の滋賀県高島市は、琵琶湖と比良山系を望む静かな町です。その高台にある梅ノ子集落に、ウメノコヤがオープンしました。
ウメノコヤは琉球藍染工房の新作や人気の定番アイテムまでをゆっくりとご覧いただける空間です。同じ敷地内に染色スペースがあり、染色風景も店舗の一部の様に溶け込んだやさしい空間です。

●The Land of Iwate and the City of Lake Biwa
The Heshiki brothers who have their roots in Okinawa and their family have each moved to a place of natural beauty, and in the course of their lives they create their work as the "Ryukyu AIZOME KOUBOU; Ryukyu Indigo Dyeing Studio.
In a landscape of pastures and cows grazing peacefully, there is the dyeing workshop of Iwate.
And "Umenokoya" runs a shop and a dyeing studio in Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture, a town facing the Japan's largest lake that is filled with abundant water.

●Today's Life and Indigo
In our fast-changing daily life, we create modern interior fabrics such as modern Noren; shop curtains and tapestries, and fashion items such as comfortable dresses and one-pieces, based on the concept of "indigo-dyed products that gently accompany us". All the products are dyed in a deep and gentle indigo color like the sea and sky of Okinawa.

●About Umenokoya
Takashima City of Shiga Prefecture, a town along the road connecting Kyoto and Fukui, is a quiet town with a view of Lake Biwa and the Hira mountain range. Umenokoya is now open in Umenoko village on the hill.
Umenokoya is a space where you can see the Ryukyu Indigo Dyeing Studio's new products and even popular regular items at a leisurely pace. There is a dyeing room on the same site, and the dyeing scene is a gentle space that blends in with the store.
